According to TMZ Sports, Dallas Cowboys star KaVontae Turpin was allegedly driving at speeds near 100 mph with a gun in his backseat before being arrested over the weekend.
According to an Allen Police Department incident record obtained by us, Turpin was pulled over at 11:49 p.m. on Saturday in Texas after authorities say they caught him going 97 mph in a 70 mph zone in his 2022 Dodge.
During the traffic stop, investigators said an unholstered 9MM pistol was discovered “in plain view” in the back of the wide receiver’s ride. Cops discovered less than two ounces of cannabis in the car’s center console.

Turpin was taken to jail and charged with two misdemeanors: possession of marijuana less than two ounces and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

He was later released under bond.
Turpin, a 28-year-old two-time Pro Bowler who recently inked a three-year, $13.5 million contract to stay with the Cowboys, had a breakout year in 2024, catching 31 catches for 420 yards and two touchdowns.
