A man armed with a weapon and tactical gear allegedly attempted to attack law enforcement as they arrived for work at a Border Patrol post in Texas, opening fire before being shot and killed.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, a fatal exchange of gunfire occurred Monday morning in McAllen.
According to reports, Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement assisted in neutralizing the shooter, who opened fire at the entrance to a US Border Patrol sector annex.

According to DHS, the gunshot injured two officers and a Border Patrol employee, one of whom was hit in the knee. All three have been to the hospital.

The FBI is currently investigating the incident, according to reports. Photos show the gunman on the ground outside a building, with evidence markers around his corpse.
The shooter was identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda, a 27-year-old Michigan resident.
