Is Hollywood witnessing a huge exodus of celebrities? Even though Los Angeles is still home to many A-list celebrities, some, like Eva Longoria and Richard Gere, have lately left the country.

As they say, three is a trend, and now another well-known name is joining the fray.

According to reports, Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, have left the nation after Donald Trump’s second victory. Following the election, in which Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, the couple made the decision to “get the hell out” of the United States, according to sources close to the couple who spoke to TMZ.

According to the sources, the actress and talk show host were “very disillusioned” with the outcome. Since then, they have moved two hours outside of London to the Cotswolds District in South West England. According to the publication, the pair purchased a home on the other side of the world prior to the 2024 election.

According to reports, the couple, who was married in 2008, intends to sell their Montecito, California, house. However, neither side has commented in public.

Prior to the election, the comedian publicly expressed her support for Harris and reportedly gave $3,300 to her campaign. She shared a photo of the Democratic presidential nominee back in August with the statement, “Nothing is more powerful than a woman whose time has come! The prospect of @KamalaHarris becoming our next president excites me.

The Seneca Project, a political organization, produced a film montage of protesters for women’s and reproductive rights, which DeGeneres tweeted on November 1. “Let’s cast our votes as if it were our last. She remarked beneath the flick, “Because they do.”

The transfer of DeGeneres and de Rossi follows a few other well-publicized moves. Longoria, who also supported Harris in the 2024 election, talked candidly about her intention to leave Los Angeles with her husband, José Bastón, and their 6-year-old son Santiago in a recent November interview with Marie Claire.

Regarding their decision to divide their time between Mexico and Spain, she remarked, “I’m privileged.” “I get to go somewhere and escape.” Not all Americans are as fortunate. They will be stranded in this dystopian nation, and I feel sad and anxious for them.

It was disclosed earlier this month that Gere had sold his house in Connecticut in order to go overseas. The Pretty Woman star’s justification, however, was more familial in nature and less political. In an interview with Vanity Fair Spain in April 2024, he expressed his desire to relocate to Spain, his wife’s home country, so she could be nearer to her family.
