On Friday (Nov. 22) around noon ET, Kendrick Lamar launched his 2024 rap MVP campaign with a brand-new album when GNX unexpectedly appeared on streaming sites.
When a one-minute GNX teaser first surfaced on YouTube, fans anticipated it would signal the beginning of a rollout.
However, Kenny quickly followed up with the 12-track GNX album via pgLang, so that wasn’t the end of it.
While Dot uses a sample of Debbie Deb’s “When I Hear Music” for “Squabble Up,” which was first hinted at as “Broccoli,” SZA joins her former Top Daw Entertainment for a calming duet on “Luther.”

Following his rivalry with Drake, there were reports that Kendrick was working on an album, and the Compton native released it before 2024 ended. Lamar’s official follow-up to Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 units sold in its first week, is GNX.
When K. Dot takes the stage at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February, when the big event takes place in New Orleans, he will have a ton of new music to go along with his new album, which he is bringing into 2025.

Lamar received seven Grammy Award nominations earlier this month, five of which were for his “Not Like Us” anthem, even before the album was released.
