Some films seem to attract A-list talent in ways that no one understands, but maybe Al Pacino’s admission can shed light on this mystery.

The living icon is most remembered for his parts in Scarface and The Godfather, but there was one project he committed to that resulted in his receiving a dishonorable Razzie award.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Razzie Awards, they’re similar to the Oscars except for terrible films, with only the worst being recognized.
Pacino portrayed one role in particular who was universally panned by both audiences and reviewers.

He told the New York Times that there was a rationale for his decision to work on an Adam Sandler picture, despite his large portfolio of serious films.

According to the actor, the personal circumstances prompted him to accept the offer.

However, his choice to join Sandler’s comic disaster has perplexed everyone who has seen it.

Fortunately, he said everything, and the majority of people who read his interview understand completely.

Except for some Reddit users who were not too sympathetic.

One individual commented, “I bet he has a couple mill in his sock…”
One person commented: “Boggles my mind how people like this run out of money.”

The film in issue was the controversial 2011 Jack and Jill, in which he portrayed a fictionalized version of himself who was expensive and somewhat insane.

The film revolved on one of Sandler’s characters attempting to employ the Oscar winner for a Dunkin’ Donuts ad, and havoc ensued.

It earned him the less prestigious Razzie Awards for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Couple.
While many were dissatisfied with his involvement in the film, he had a simple response.

It was due to his financial problems.

During the interview, he said, “My accountant was in prison, and I needed something quickly.”

His accountant was convicted for stealing money from his customers to fuel his extravagant lifestyle, and although Pacino refused to disclose if he had been a victim, he realized he needed money as quickly as possible.

Kenneth Starr, an accountant, was sentenced to seven and a half years in jail in 2010 for embezzling $33 million.

The 84-year-old actor stated: “There came a time in my life when I needed a job because I realized I didn’t have any more money. I wanted something quick. So I accepted this position.”

The position allowed him to continue living his life and paying his obligations, something supporters couldn’t criticize.

One user said, “Even if he did a bad job, they still had to give him that 2 mill.”

A other person commented: “He didn’t even do a bad job, he was the best part of a terrible movie.”

“It’s not immoral to accept a part in a sh*tty movie, it’s just a job, so good on him for securing the bag,” added another, while one person wrote: “The bills don’t care whether the movie was a bomb or not since they’re going to keep arriving anyway. “Work is work.”
