Making movies may be a lot of effort, so outsourcing the labor sounds appealing. And the introduction of generative AI technologies capable of producing everything from screenplays to thumbnails can be particularly appealing.

However, there are reasons why creators should not hand over their YouTube channels and TikTok accounts to platforms like as ChatGPT and RunwayML. For starters, some audience members are highly opposed to creators’ broad use of generative AI techniques. More specifically, producers appreciate the need of maintaining a human connection with their consumers.

That is not to imply that producers aren’t using generative AI technologies in their video operations. They’re simply taking precautions to prevent AI from conquering their videos and have even implemented policies controlling their AI use, as shown in the video below.

“If there are words that ChatGPT wrote in a script, that is a failure of the policy,” said Hank Green, a creator who manages the YouTube channel Vlogbrothers with his brother John and co-founded VidCon, an annual creative conference.
