Tyrese Gibson appears to have gotten ahead of the rest of Hollywood when it comes to loathing James Franco.
Despite their years of collaboration, Seth Rogen recently stated that he would never work with Franco again.
This followed other women’s complaints of sexually improper behaviour in 2018.

Gibson, on the other hand, has harbored animosity toward Franco since 2006.
The couple collaborated on the film Annapolis, which was shot at the height of James Franco’s method acting career.

The film follows Franco as he trains for the Navy, with Gibson playing his commanding officer.
Annapolis culminates with a boxing contest, with the final match between the two leads.
During the filming of sequences like these, they usually make it appear as if the actors are hitting each other using camera trickery.
In the case of Annapolis, they were actually beating the crap out of each other.

In an interview with Elle Magazine, Gibson stated regarding practice: “I was always like, ‘James, loosen up, buddy. We are simply practicing. “He never lightened up.”
Franco allegedly punched Gibson in the face during filming the final product.
He went on to remark, “I respect Method actors, but he never acted out of character. When we had to step in the ring for boxing scenes, and even during practice, the guy was full-throttle pounding me.”
Franco admitted to his role in the film’s troubles, saying in 2014: “I accept complete responsibility for any issues with the film. If he had a negative experience working with me, it was most likely because I was a bad person.
“I didn’t mean to be harsh to him, but I was probably so focused on my performance that I wasn’t as friendly as I could have been.
“However, when I am asked about it in the press, it appears that it is still an issue. Tyrese seems like a nice man with a decent heart. “I wish him the best.”
This does not appear to have always been his opinion, as he told GQ in 2008: “I hear he wants to blow up my hotel room”.
He may not be willing to go that far, but there is no love lost between the two.
Gibson later told Playboy magazine, “I never want to work with him again, and I’m sure he feels the same way.” It felt quite personal. It was f**ked up.”
I don’t blame him for turning up to act in a film and then suddenly fighting for his life with Franco.
