Morgan Wallen’s sold-out debut at London’s Hyde Park on July 4 establishes a new UK record for the largest country music concert.
Wallen played in front of 50,000 people at Hyde Park, his first visit in the UK since December’s sold-out show at The O2.
If you didn’t know US country music was popular in the UK, you’re not alone. But Morgan Wallen is not just selling out gigs there; he is also breaking records: his sold-out event at London’s Hyde Park on July 4 broke the mark for the largest country concert ever held in the United Kingdom.

The London show, which was part of Wallen’s headline stadium tour, One Night At a Time, drew 50,000 people, the largest crowd ever seen at a country music concert in the region. His previous UK engagement at The O2 in December was also a sell-out.
Despite the growing popularity of country music, “the boy from East Tennessee”‘s international stardom may be due in part to his reputation (he has been embroiled in a number of controversies this year alone, to say nothing of his previous transgressions).

Perhaps it’s because of his recent history-making collaboration with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” which was Posty’s first dip into country music before his country album debut. These events solidify Morgan Wallen’s role in the cultural zeitgeist, going beyond country music.
Speaking of the cultural zeitgeist, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany were seen cuddling during Morgan’s Hyde Park event. The couple has been traveling around Europe for the past few weeks, but a celebrity couple stopping to attend a concert speaks volumes about an artist’s fame.
Regardless of whether it’s the man or his music, Wallen must be doing something right. His return to the UK comes ahead of his first European tour, which begins August 28 in Stockholm, Sweden. The seven-show tour includes stops in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and more, as well as a two-night stay in Dublin.
