He’s sliding into a new position.
About a year after splitting with some of his biggest clients, such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, Scooter Braun said he was retiring from music management.
“This chapter as a music manager has come to an end after 23 years,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram message on Monday, following the sharing of multiple old images that featured career milestones.
The 42-year-old Braun clarified that he had been planning to retire from managing for a while.
It’s a peculiar sensation, he said. “I feel like I’ve wanted this for a while, but I was really scared to say ‘who would I be without them?'”
Braun says that he has dedicated his entire adult life to being accessible to his customers around-the-clock. Braun began managing artists at the age of 19.
And I have loved it for 20 years. All I knew was that,” he wrote.
However, Braun claimed that he realized he needed to devote more time to his family when his three children—whom he shares with his ex-wife, Yael Cohen—grew older and his personal life “took some hits.”

He wrote, “I realized my kids were three superstars I wasn’t willing to lose.” The compromises I used to be ready to make were no longer justifiable. It was time to take on a different position.
In order to concentrate on his responsibilities as CEO and board member of Hybe America, an entertainment firm that still collaborates with Grande and Bieber, Braun is stepping away from music management. Braun is no longer involved in the “Sorry” singer’s management business and never will be, a representative for Bieber told People on Monday.
In the meanwhile, Braun is focusing on investing in business owners and holding a national board position at Make-a-Wish.
“For the past three years, Chairman Bang [Si-Hyuk], my brilliant colleague, has had a vision that I really believe in. Beyond that, though, he has developed into a great buddy who recognizes where I need to be in life right now, according to Braun.

“And that is no longer a manager; that is a father first, a CEO second.”
Braun claimed that for the previous two years, he had been “heading towards this destination,” but he didn’t decide to modify his ways until his largest client broke off their business relationship last summer.
He did not identify the client, but in August 2023, rumors circulated that the 30-year-old Bieber and Grande had fired him as their manager.
Braun remarked, “God has been pushing me in this direction for quite some time.” “I have nothing but love for the people I have worked with over the years, and whether we collaborate in person or virtually, I will always be there to advise and support them as our working relationships change.”
Next he reminisced about all the celebrities he has collaborated with throughout the years, such as Quavo, Kanye West, Andrew Wyatt, Lil Dicky, J Balvin, Demi Lovato, Zac Brown Band, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more.
“But I just smiled and thought, ‘what a ride,'” he said, “this past Christmas Day when Ariana and Justin became the biggest male and female in the Spotify Billions club’s history.”
Regarding the “Stuck With U” partners, Braun continued, “To see them both grow up to be the legends they are today will forever be one of my greatest honors.”
“I never imagined this chapter would end—in fact, I never imagined it would happen at all. However, it did. And I’ll treasure every second of it. I created my strategy. However, it seems that I prefer God’s plan. Salutations!
