Today, NBC Sports revealed that its daily Olympic Recap on Peacock will be powered by an AI broadcaster with the voice of Al Michaels. This customer-created Olympics recap on Peacock will present fans with highlights of the Olympics focused on the sports they are interested in.

“Peacock continues to introduce unique customer-first features that strengthen our unmatched leadership in live streaming,” said Kelly Campbell, NBCUniversal’s President of Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer. “With these recaps alongside interactive elements like Peacock Live Actions and Discovery Multiview, we’re bringing the best of sports together with the best of technology to deliver fans a personalized Olympics experience in a way that’s never been possible before.”

“When I was approached about this, I was skeptical but obviously curious,” Al Michaels told me. “Then I saw a demonstration of what they had in mind. I replied, ‘I’m in.'”

Peacock believes there will be over 7 million individualized variants of “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock” that will provide personalized updates based on 5,000 hours of live coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Beginning July 27, Peacock subscribers will be able to access “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock.” To receive these updates, you must select the types of highlights you want to view, including your three favorite sports and desired subjects, such as behind-the-scenes and backstories, top competition, viral and trending moments, and a focus on international teams. The first edition, on July 27, will feature highlights from the Opening Ceremony, and individualized editions for each individual will be available beginning July 28, following the first full day of events.
