Donald Glover has stated why he decided to relinquish his stage name “Childish Gambino”.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The rapper admitted that he no longer found his stage moniker gratifying, stating that he had realized it was simply “done”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was simply like, ‘Oh, it’s done.'” “It’s not fulfilling,” Donald, 40, told The New York Times. “And I just felt like I didn’t need to build in this way anymore.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that when he first got interested in the music business, he struggled to locate a Black community that shared his interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I remember going to an N.E.R.D. show with my girlfriend and we were the only two Black people there,” Donald told me. “I feel like I was just looking around wondering, ‘Where is everyone?'” “Am I an alien?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Donald stated that he is uninterested in trying to be the coolest person in the industry and rather to have a genuine connection with his boys, Legend, 8, Drake, 6, and Donald Jr, 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
