According to CNN, three Mexican nationals were on the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore when it collapsed after a collision with a container ship on Tuesday. The Mexican president confirmed the news Wednesday morning.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador stated that one of the men was retrieved and is alive, describing him as “injured” but “safe.” Mexico’s President stated that two people are still missing. His administration is currently in contact with the families that diplomatic staff are assisting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00f3pez Obrador emphasized a contentious issue, telling his northern neighbors that migrants typically work at midnight and do “risky work,” adding, “They do not deserve to be treated, as they often are, by some irresponsible politicians and with little sensibility in the United States.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00f3pez Obrador’s administration was aware of several missing people, including brothers believed to be from Central America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the missing was recognized as an El Salvadorian father of three, as was another Honduran father of two. And these were two men who had lived in the United States for about two decades each. In addition, two Guatemalans had gone missing. Divers resumed recovery attempts on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
