Even before Elon Musk purchased Twitter, the company now known as X attempted to compete with YouTube. <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the New York Post, X will release an app for streaming players and smart TVs next week that will allow you to broadcast video from X to your TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t a novel notion. About 5 years ago, Twitter offered apps for streaming players such as Roku that allowed you to watch live and on-demand Twitter videos. That was then removed from most streaming platforms after failing to garner traction, despite featuring content from key partners such as the PGA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, it is rumored that X will attempt again, this time focusing on bringing content partners such as MrBeast to its platform. MrBeats experimented with posting his movies on X in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My first X video made over $250,000!” Donaldson wrote in an X post back in January. The content producer admitted that the hype surrounding the original post undoubtedly increased the video’s overall views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“[It’s] a bit of a facade,” Donaldson added in his piece. “Advertisers saw the attention it was getting and bought ads on my video (I think) and thus my revenue per view is prob higher than what you’d experience.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a snapshot, MrBeast’s video on X had more than 156 million impressions and over five million engagements. As of Tuesday, the X video has more than 161 million views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make, so I’m reuploading this to test it,” Donaldson wrote in the post, promising to publish the results the following week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
