The CBS and Fox-owned television stations have renewed Judge Judy for three more years, with Gray and Hearst also signing on for multiple years, CBS Media Ventures senior VP, domestic sales Greg Guenther announced Wednesday.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The syndication-leading court show’s original production finished in 2021, although it is still airing in repeats on TV networks. According to Nielsen, Judge Judy averaged a 4.2 live-plus-same-day national household rating during the week ending February 4. That puts it far ahead of the second-highest-rated court show, CMV’s Hot Bench, a panel court show produced by Judge Judy Sheindlin herself, which has a rating of 1.3. Judge Judy has averaged 6.1 million total viewers this season, which is more than all other syndicated court shows combined, according to CMV. Judge Judy reached a season high of 6.7 million total viewers during the week ending January 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Judge Judy library is a powerful force in stations across the country,” Guenther said in a statement. “It draws viewers and boosts stations’ lineups, improving its new time periods on average by +40% among total viewers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fall, Judge Judy will compete with itself in a way, as Sox Entertainment has removed Sheindlin’s new show, Judy Justice, from Amazon Freevee on stations owned by Nexstar, Sunbeam, Cox Media, Weigel, and Mission Broadcasting. Season three of Judy Justice premiered on January 22 on Freevee.<\/p>\n\n\n
