Alright, so the conflict between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is essentially Hollywood.
A screenplay about the world’s richest and most powerful men fighting each other in a full-scale conflict over the planet’s future would be approved right away (or booed out of the room for being unrealistic). There is nothing like the popcorn-bucket quotient.
However, Hollywood also suffers as a result of such a dispute. Actually, more than one. You could wonder how the town’s businesses, CEOs, and artists are affected by the knockdown-dragout fight. Here are five possible approaches.
- Set MAGA Up Against YouTube and Other Tech Companies Associated with Entertainment
The Silicon Valley firms that control our entertainment and culture, among other things, have benefited greatly from Trump’s general friendliness since his election seven months ago, which has drawn many Republicans to him (or at least intimidated them into quiet). However, that has started to change as a result of Missouri Senator Josh Hawley and a number of other people being more vocal and starting to raise accountability-related concerns over YouTube’s AI training as well as social media platforms’ content rules. Now that Trump no longer has the warmest Big Tech voice in his ear, the trend may win Trump over as well. He may actually have a fresh motivation to target Big Tech, aiming to bring down organizations like Amazon and Netflix as well as academic institutions, legal practices, traditional media, and others he has targeted.

- Remove Brendan Carr, the chair of the FCC
Carr, who has attempted to summon Comcast, Disney, and other media firms to the principal’s office and delay the Paramount-Skydance merger in the process, is one of the biggest thorns in the side of network news and other content titans. Carr is actually a big supporter of Musk; he has visited SpaceX’s Texas headquarters, snapped photos with the business tycoon, and defended him when he criticized fellow FCC members for failing to award Musk’s Starlink enormous amounts of rural broadband subsidy fees a few years ago. Now that his employer—well, technically his boss is Congress—has a falling out with his major ally, Carr will undoubtedly try to play the Muskian. However, it could be difficult to get that story through, and Carr might end himself marginalized without his friend and rabbi. For a few seconds, Bob Iger and Shari Redstone may let out a breath.
- Provide a Potential New ally for Hollywood Liberals
Okay, so even if many political sources are willing to accept it, this one seems excessive. Politico reports that Democrats are considering a villain-to-ally plot for Elon Musk, while Semafor reports that a Democratic lawmaker is stepping up efforts to entice Musk to join his party for the midterm elections.

There are still many Democrats who despise Musk; the enemy-of-your-enemy argument is limited. Many Democrats share Tim’s sentiments. “How fantastic is Elon Musk’s disappearance?” Even while not everyone will say it, Walz does.

However, Congressman Ro Khanna, a progressive from Northern California, wants Musk to become more California-like. His district is home to a Tesla assembly facility. In the end, Khanna told Semafor, “we should be trying to convince him that the Democratic Party has more of the values that he agrees with.” “A dedication to clean technology, a dedication to science funding, and a dedication to seeing international students like him.”
Musk needs a lot more contracts from Trump’s agencies, and nothing he has done in the last year indicates that this is even remotely possible. Additionally, he will likely be attempting to discredit Trump candidates from the right in the midterm elections.

A juicily hilarious specter, however, would be the individual who said in the autumn that the entertainment industry was plotting to allow Diddy to now mix with Jeffrey Katzenberg, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and other members of Hollywood’s fundraising apparatus.
- Let those in the entertainment industry keep their Teslas.
It makes natural that the Tesla Takedown movement has its roots in Hollywood, which is known for its love of automobiles and vengeance stories. The whole affair was essentially started by Alex Winter of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and in his aftermath, celebrities like Sheryl Crow and Jason Bateman have given up their flashy EVs. The defanging of DOGE, Musk’s retreat from the government, and his newfound feud with Trump may make it a bit easier to hang onto the Model X Plaid, even though he won’t seem like a good man to leftists in Hollywood. Ari could hold his head high when operating his Cybertruck.

- Encourage Trump to Slow Down AI Companies That Consume Content
This one is challenging. In July, when he is anticipated to unveil his regulatory intentions, Trump is expected to make a major announcement regarding artificial intelligence. He hasn’t showed much interest in such restrictions thus far. In reality, a significant clause in the current Big Beautiful spending plan, which is also at the heart of the Musk dispute, prohibits states from regulating AI for ten years. This is a tremendous concession to Google, Sam Altman, and the rest of the Silicon Valley AI lobby. However, there are already indications that it might be delayed down, and Marjorie Taylor Greene is spearheading the campaign in support of states’ rights. The Senate recently weakened the clause, converting it from a complete prohibition on state regulation to the removal of broadband subsidies in the event that states do so.
Given his blood rivalry with Musk, the man in charge of the AI model Grok, may Trump use his strength to further roll it back and permit regulation? It is feasible. It’s also important to note that Musk and Altman, who favors virtually no regulation at all, are embroiled in a different blood battle. According to that enemy-of-your-enemy reasoning, Trump’s opposition to AI regulation may increase as a result of the Musk dispute, allowing the models to run wild in movies and music. As is the case with everything Musk-Trump does, the actions are entertaining.
