On Monday, NBCUniversal revealed that Michael Jordan will be a special contributor to NBC Sports for the 2025–2026 NBA season.

The 2009 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and six-time champion stated in a press release, “I am so excited to see the NBA back on NBC.”

“My career was significantly impacted by the NBA on NBC, and I’m thrilled to be a unique contributor to the endeavor. I’m excited to see everyone when the NBA on NBC premieres in October.

NBA and WNBA regular-season and playoff games will be televised on platforms beginning in 2025–2026 as part of an 11-year deal signed in July by the NBA, NBCUniversal, Walt Disney Co., and Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, NBC declared that Sunday Night Basketball will debut on NBC and Peacock in 2026.

Estimated to be worth $77 billion, the 11-year deal expires during the 2035–2036 NBA season.

Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle will be joined on the broadcast team by former NBA players Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, and Carmelo Anthony.

“Michael’s legacy speaks for itself both on and off the court,” said Rick Cordella, president of NBC Sports. “We’re incredibly proud to have him join our coverage.”
