2 Chainz does not toy with his money. The 46-year-old musician has filed a lawsuit against a Los Angeles-based cannabis company that allegedly defrauded him out of $1.5 million.
Law 360 discovered the lawsuit through the Los Angeles Superior Court. It claims that the Atlanta rapper put $1.5 million in the cannabis industry in 2021 and was introduced to them by Snoop Dogg’s tour manager. Their contract reportedly included a stipulation that allowed the Grammy winner to receive his money back if he submitted 30 days’ notice.
Chainz requested his money back in May 2022, after the company’s delayed opening, but they did not oblige. He even texted the co-founder in late 2022 to continue chasing his money and received a response; however, he was informed that their agreement was no longer legal.
Despite this tragic situation, 2 Chainz has recently had commercial success. He collaborated with Smoothie King to deliver their smoothies and products at State Farm Arena, the home of the Atlanta Hawks.
