Kendrick Lamar’s massive hit “Not Like Us” has eclipsed 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” as the most streamed diss track in Spotify history.

Lamar’s latest award was originally revealed over the weekend, when “Not Like Us” officially surpassed “Hit ‘Em Up” on the streaming platform, cementing its place as one of the best diss singles of all time.

Released in May, amid Kendrick’s intense spat with Drake, “Not Like Us” soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, fast becoming the biggest rap single of 2024. Mustard produced the single, which has the Compton native verbally attacking Drake’s reputation and accusing him of being a sexual predator.

Ironically, the song also makes reference to Drake’s apparent “disrespect” for 2Pac, whose crown ring the rapper won at auction in 2023.

Pac took aim at The Notorious B.I.G., Bad Boy Records, Mobb Deep, and others amid the apex of the rap conflicts between the East and West coasts when he released “Hit ‘Em Up” in 1996. The album is largely regarded as the finest and most fiery diss track of all time, and it continues to receive radio over three decades after its debut.

“Not Like Us” has earned an amazing amount of attention and accolades since its debut, shattering numerous streaming and charting records, cementing Lamar’s victory in his lyrical dispute with Drake. The song reached the record for the most Spotify streams in a single day, surpassing Drake’s 2021 hit “Girls Want Girls” with Lil Baby.

“Not Like Us” may possibly be considered for a GRAMMY Award candidacy, as confirmed by Grammy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. in June.
