Bronny James, LeBron James' 18-Year-Old Son, Experiences A Heart Arrest During A USC Basketball Practice

Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, went into cardiac arrest during a basketball session at the University of Southern California on Monday.

According to a spokeswoman for the James family, the 18-year-old athlete was rushed to a hospital and treated in the intensive care unit before being released to general care.

“Bronny James had a cardiac arrest yesterday while practicing.” Bronny was treated and taken to the hospital by medical personnel. “He is now in stable condition and is no longer in ICU,” the representative says.

“We ask for respect and privacy for the James family, and we will update the media as more information becomes available.”

LeBron and Savannah James continue the letter by thanking the USC medical and athletic personnel for their “incredible work and dedication” to the safety of their athletes.

The American Heart Association defines cardiac arrest as when the heart “malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly.”

This is distinct from a heart attack, which occurs when blood supply to the organ is obstructed.

“We ask for privacy and respect for the James family,” a spokeswoman stated.

Bronny, who pledged to USC after graduating from high school, is already out of the intensive care unit.

According to TMZ Sports, which broke the story first, a 911 call was placed from the school’s Galen Center, where the Trojans play and practice.

According to the publication, the patient, eventually identified as Bronny, was brought to the hospital in an ambulance complete with lights and sirens.

Bronny recently committed to USC and is expected to follow in the footsteps of his famous father and play in the NBA.

The 38-year-old Los Angeles Lakers icon has already stated his desire to play alongside Bronny in the pros, claiming he would do “whatever it takes” to enjoy at least one season together.

“My final year will be spent with my son.” “Wherever Bronny is, that’s where I’ll be,” LeBron said in February 2022 to the Athletic.
