Police in Florida smashed a driver’s window and hauled him out of his car after he mouthed off to them during a traffic stop. The entire incident was captured on camera. The man was then hit in the mouth.

Body camera footage from William McNeil’s violent February arrest was recently made public by Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters. It shows him disputing with cops over why he was stopped.

McNeil interrogates deputies who inform him that he was pulled over for failing to use his headlights in the rain. He locks himself in the car and demands a supervisor. When more deputies arrive, he continues to defend himself until they smash his window with their bare fists and pull him from the driver’s seat.

🚨 VIRAL TRAFFIC STOP TURNS VIOLENT 🚨 22-year-old William McNeil Jr. was brutally arrested during a Feb. 19, 2025 traffic stop in Jacksonville, FL—and it’s all on video. McNeil, stopped for allegedly driving without headlights, calmly asked officers, “What is your reason?” before things escalated. Moments later, cops smashed his car window, punched him in the face, and dragged him out. He suffered a concussion, chipped tooth, stitches, and short-term memory loss. McNeil was convicted only of resisting an officer without violence and driving with a suspended license—while citations for the headlights and a seatbelt violation were dismissed. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says it’s conducting an internal investigation, but civil rights attorneys Ben Crump and Harry Daniels call it excessive force and plan legal action. The NAACP is demanding answers as the video spreads online, sparking outrage over what many say is clear police misconduct.

The sheriff claims that although the event is being reviewed administratively to see if any JSO policies were broken, prosecutors found that none of the officers engaged in the traffic stop had broken any criminal laws.

Sheriff Waters claims that Officer Bowers, who was identified as the officer who punched McNeil and broke the window, has lost his law enforcement authority.

Harry Daniels, one of McNeil’s lawyers, tells TMZ “They beat him and break his window after he merely requests a supervisor, yet the report strangely overlooked it. I’m not sure which is worse—the fact that his superiors approved of this lie or the fact that this cop blatantly attempted to use it to defend his unlawful cruelty.”
