The majority of Tyler The Creator’s new album “DON’T TAP THE GLASS,” however, is dominated by a few exceptional names.
After days of teasing and almost a few hours of preparation, Tyler The Creator’s new album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, is now here. We now have the entire record in our ears following a special performance in Los Angeles yesterday night (Sunday, July 20): brief, endearing, and unquestionably funky.

According to HipHopNMore, he handles all production on this project, as is typical of any work by the Hawthorne native. However, according to Genius, it’s in the vocals, additional ad-libs, samples, and guest artists that a few names stand out to add more depth to the background.

The most notable person in this context is Pharrell, who contributes a few brief verses to the album’s opening track “Big Poe” and, as usual, has a significant impact on the whole thing. He samples “Roked” by the Rajasthan Express, Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, and Israeli musician Shye Ben Tzur throughout the song.
Speaking of sampling, “Pass The Courvoisier Part II” by Busta Rhymes, featuring Pharrell and Diddy, was also sampled in the opening track of the CHROMAKOPIA artist’s latest album. On “Don’t Tap That Glass / Tweakin’,” Baby Keem contributes some ad-libs; on “Don’t You Worry Baby,” DAISY WORLD contributes; and on “I’ll Take Care Of You,” which uses a sample of “Knuck If You Buck” by the Crime Mob, Princess and Killa C make an appearance.
As you can see, “Big Poe” is arguably the song with the most guests on this Tyler, The Creator album, both in terms of direct features and samples. Fans are still going over all of Don’t Tap The Glass’ brazen details, though, and every song is sparking discourse.
The album was further discussed by Tyler, The Creator, on Twitter. “I thought damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost,” he stated. “It started me thinking about how much of our humanity was destroyed out of fear of becoming a meme. All in the name of enjoyment. […] Sitting still is not the purpose of this record. Dancing. operating a vehicle. sprinting. Any kind of movement is advised in order to maybe grasp its essence. Only when the volume is full.
