Voletta Wallace, the Notorious B.I.G.’s mother, passed away in February at the age of 72.

Faith Evans is facing a fresh lawsuit from Wayne Barrow, a record executive who was named executor of the estate of The Notorious B.I.G.’s mother, Voletta Wallace, when she died in February. Barrow accuses Evans of allegedly refusing to split revenues from a catalog agreement with the estate.

According to Billboard, the lawsuit alleges that Voletta used an LLC to control a major amount of The Notorious B.I.G.’s assets following his death. It further says that she sold half of her assets to Primary Wave before her death. As a result, Primary Wave owns a significant amount of the rapper’s song repertoire, as well as various rights to his name, image, and likeness. Having said that, she is supposedly responsible for distributing percentages of the catalog’s income to Wallace’s trust.

“Ms. Evans has dispersed selling earnings to Ty’anna, CJ, and probably herself,” Barrow claims in the lawsuit, referring to Biggie’s two children. “She, however, has wrongfully withheld the Trust’s [redacted] part of the revenues, in the sum of [redacted].” He further argues that Evan has absolutely refused to interact with the trust and is keeping Barrow “largely in the dark concerning the operations and affairs of the LLC.” Barrow adds: “Ms. Evans’ activities are especially disturbing because, unlike Mr. Barrow, she has never previously been involved in the LLC’s management.

Barrow’s lawsuit seeks a court order requiring Evans to pay the trust’s share of the profits, which he intends to donate to the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. He also seeks to replace Evans as the LLC’s manager, citing her “continued misconduct and disregard for her obligations.”

Wayne Barrow’s lawsuit isn’t the first time The Notorious B.I.G.’s name has been dragged into legal action this month. Following Diddy’s not guilty verdict for sex trafficking and racketeering in his criminal trial, an anonymous plaintiff filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of masturbating into a shirt previously worn by The Notorious B.I.G. and throwing it on the John Doe during an encounter in Los Angeles in 2020.

In a statement to TMZ, the Bad Boy mogul’s legal team denied the allegations, writing, “Mr. Combs’ trial and acquittal on trafficking and RICO charges demonstrate what we have always said: Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone. It’s awful that people continue to broadcast and file false charges, no matter how horrible or uncorroborated they are, but Mr. Combs will not back down. He will struggle until he is fully vindicated.”
