The news comes after Diddy was convicted not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering in a criminal trial earlier this month.
Diddy scored another legal success on Tuesday, when New York Judge Leslie A. Stroth dismissed part of the charges in April Lampros’ case against the Bad Boy mogul. According to Billboard, she determined that the statute of limitations had run out on her claim that he compelled her to have sex in the 1990s.
Tyrone Blackburn, Lampros’ attorney, filed the action under New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Act to get around the standard statute of limitations. Stroth, on the other hand, cited a recent appellate court decision that reduced the eligible cases to those after December 19, 2000.

Lampros will continue to pursue the complaint, accusing Diddy of forcibly kissing and groping her in the early 2000s, though she can not recall the specific day. “To the extent that there is a question as to conduct occurring in the year 2000, such are not dismissed at this time, as further discovery is needed to determine the exact date of the alleged incidents,” according to Stroth.

In response to the finding, Diddy’s legal team stated that the decision “significantly” narrows Lampros’ charges. “Importantly, this ruling was made at the pleading stage, and no evidence on the surviving claim has been submitted to the court,” they indicated. “Mr. Combs has not yet had an opportunity to contest those false allegations, and the court’s decision thus does not address their truth.”

Blackburn, on the other hand, is entirely focused on progressing with the lawsuit. “I sent Sean Combs’ counsel notice that I intend to depose Sean Combs within 60 days, and I will be serving discovery demands this evening,” according to Billboard.

Despite the good news for Diddy, this is not the only civil action he is facing. Just this week, another unnamed complainant accused him of masturbating into a clothing originally worn by The Notorious B.I.G. and throwing it on him during a 2020 encounter in Los Angeles.
In a statement to TMZ, Diddy’s lawyers denied the allegation. They wrote: “Mr. Combs’s trial and acquittal on trafficking and RICO charges demonstrate what we have always said: Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone.” It’s awful that people continue to broadcast and file false charges, no matter how horrible or uncorroborated they are, but Mr. Combs will not back down. He will struggle until he is fully vindicated.”
