The death of Jimmy Swaggart at the age of 90 has been confirmed.

Swaggart Ministries spokesperson Megan Kelly announced the 90-year-old’s death today (July 1) on his official Facebook page: “Today, our hearts are heavy as we reveal that Brother Swaggart has finished his earthly race and entered the presence of His Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Today was the day he had been singing about for decades. He encountered his beloved Savior and entered the portals of glory. At the same time, we delight in the knowledge that we will see him again someday.

The statement continued, “For more than seven decades, Brother Swaggart poured out his life preaching the gospel, singing songs of faith, and pointing millions to the redeeming power of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. His voice boomed across continents, his music softened hearts, and his message remained constant: Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

“He was more than just a preacher; he was a worshiper, a warrior, and an example of God’s kindness and mercy. He was a guy of unwavering faith who always went where the Lord led. And the Lord honoured that faith.
