During an interview on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, the Meta CEO addressed the rumors surrounding his alleged “underground bunker” in Hawaii. The 41-year-old stated that the area is “more like underground storage.”

The Facebook co-founder stated that the tunnel is “not that large,” alluding to a video captured by his wife, paediatrician Priscilla Chan, in which he is seen enjoying video games within the construction.
“It is a tunnel that leads to another building.” “It is akin to having a small underground storm shelter,” he stated.
In 2014, Zuckerberg acquired 700 acres of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai for approximately $170 million. In the years that followed, he acquired additional land with the intention of constructing a 1,400-acre compound known as Koolau Ranch, which is valued at $270 million.

The entire complex is blocked off by a six-foot wall and is monitored by security, according to documents seen by Wired last year that detailed plans for the then-partially constructed estate. Zuckerberg has been tight-lipped about his project. It is also reported that no one involved in the initiative is permitted to discuss it, and contractors are required to sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs).

The plans disclosed that two mansions will be “connected by a tunnel” that “branches off into a 5,000-square-foot underground shelter.” This shelter will be outfitted with soundproof chambers and concealed entrances.
The bunker would be equipped with a blast-proof door constructed from concrete and metal, as well as an escape hatch that can be accessed via a staircase, a mechanical room, and a living space.
In an interview with Bloomberg’s Emily Chang, Zuckerberg, who has a net worth of $245.8 billion, disclosed whether the allegations are accurate and whether he actually maintains a substantial Doomsday shelter.

When Chang inquired whether he had a fortification beneath his compound, he responded, “No, I believe that’s more of a small shelter.” It is comparable to a cellar.
“We constructed a basic house and an office in the area, as I conduct my business there.” There is an abundance of storage space, whether it be referred to as a hurricane shelter or otherwise.
“I believe that the situation was exaggerated, as if the entire ranch were a Doomsday bunker, which is simply not the case.”
