Terrance Dixon’s lawsuit contains numerous alarming allegations against Fat Joe, including allegations that he engaged in sexual intercourse with juveniles.

Roc Nation has submitted a motion to dismiss Terrance Dixon’s explosive lawsuit against Fat Joe, in which the management company is accused of purportedly withholding wages. According to Alex Spiro, the company’s lawyer, this is functionally untenable, as it exclusively oversees Joe’s catalog, publishing rights, and intellectual property. “Roc Nation is not involved in any of this.” Nothing. In a statement that was provided to Billboard, he stated, “We anticipate that this case will be dismissed.”

Regarding the motion, Spiro asserts that “Roc Nation’s alleged role in this case — according to the plaintiff himself — is that it became Mr. Cartagena’s artist management company in 2017 and, in that capacity, earned a commission on the revenue Mr. Cartagena generated.” However, the plaintiff contends that the fact that Roc Nation had a business relationship with Mr. Cartagena somehow renders the company a participant in sex trafficking, an aider-and-abettor of Mr. Cartagena’s alleged conduct, and a member of a RICO [Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act] enterprise. No, that is absurd.

“The manner in which Roc Nation was purportedly aware of this deplorable alleged behavior is a mystery,” Spiro continues. “He does not assert that Roc Nation’s management of Mr. Cartagena’s music business provided it with insight into the amount of compensation that plaintiff should have received, the amount that was paid, or any attempt to deprive him of adequate compensation.”

In a statement that was provided to Billboard, Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney for Terrance Dixon, addressed the motion. He affirmed that he will oppose the request. Blackburn was pleased to observe that Roc Nation was astute enough to distance itself from Fat Joe and his RICO enterprise. “The plaintiff does not harbor any personal animosity toward Roc Nation or its leadership.”

Dixon made a number of disquieting allegations against Fat Joe in the lawsuit. The allegations encompass “coercive labor exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation, and psychological coercion.” He even asserts that Joe engaged in sexual intercourse with juveniles.

Joe Tacopina, Fat Joe’s attorney, has already denied the allegations. He cautioned that “the extortionate demand that is the foundation of this scheme is well-known to law enforcement.”
