Elon Musk’s Neuralink implant, which enables users to transcend the constraints of their bodies, has provided benefits to six individuals thus far.
The’mind-reading chip’, which was developed by Musk’s US neurotechnology firm, Neuralink, had an extraordinary impact on the world when the first human recipient reported significant success with the implant in January of last year.
Noland Arbaugh, a resident of Arizona, was paralyzed from the shoulders down as a result of a car accident. He was the first person in the world to benefit from the sophisticated technology, as he was able to autonomously control a computer and regain a degree of independence in his life.

Rob Greiner of Idaho has reportedly become the sixth patient to have the chip inserted into his brain, following in Noland’s footsteps. He has disclosed that the chip has already performed “amazing” tasks for him in the span of a week.

Rob, who was a dog trainer for over a decade before he was left quadriplegic in December 2022 by a car accident, has disclosed the extent to which the chip has altered his life. In a remarkable video posted on Twitter, he demonstrates his ability to play video games solely with his consciousness.
In a post on Wednesday (June 18), he exclaimed, “It is truly remarkable what I have accomplished in under a week with Neuralink!” “I am unable to express my gratitude to the Neuralink team, the doctors, the surgeons, and all of my family and friends for their support.”
“I may appear to be playing a few games, but it has only been a week, and I am already in awe!”

Rob disclosed that he elected to undergo the procedure on June 14, and it proceeded without incident.
A photograph of him taken after the surgery reveals that he had multiple stitches in his cranium, where a large incision was made to install the chip.
It is truly remarkable the progress I have made in under a week with Neuralink. I am unable to express my gratitude to the Neuralink team, the doctors, the surgeons, and all of my family and colleagues for their support. It may appear that I am only playing a few games, but it has only been a week, and I am already in awe!
“I have had an extraordinary journey thus far as a quadriplegic; however, the most significant accomplishment is being accepted as a participant in Neuralink and undergoing a successful surgery,” he stated in a subsequent post.
He shared two videos of himself playing video games from his laptop, appearing to do little more than stare at the screen. He also explained that he is controlling the cursor solely with his mind.

He has been astounded by his ability to accomplish such a feat without the use of any additional devices.
“I will undoubtedly be sharing numerous additional videos and photographs of my journey; it is only the beginning!” he declared in response to the substantial viral response his videos received from his fans. “I would like to emphasize that I do not utilize any other assistive technology, with the exception of my Neuralink. Additionally, the laptop I am currently using does not have eye gaze technology.”
Despite the fact that the implant is entirely unfamiliar to Rob, Noland has been rigorously testing it, even going so far as to acquire languages, play chess, and dominate his friends in online games.
The organization is persisting in its efforts to recruit additional quadriplegic patients to participate in its “pioneering clinical trial of our brain-computer interface.”
Neuralink, which was established by entrepreneur Musk in 2016, operates by developing a “generalized brain interface” that “unlocks human potential” and “restores autonomy” to patients with medical conditions.
It claims that the implant is “cosmetically invisible” and enables the user to “control a computer or mobile device anywhere you go.”
Even those who are “completely blind” will be able to see again, as Musk has claimed since the company’s partnership with UAE’s Cleveland Clinic that they plan to conduct the first human trial of its “Blindsight” chip as early as next year.
