Andrew Jassy, the CEO of Amazon, has dispatched an email to its employees regarding artificial intelligence.
Several occupations are purportedly at risk due to the impact of artificial intelligence. Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, an AI company, has expressly identified occupations such as publicists, market researchers, and copywriters (ugh).
He referred to these as white-collar, entry-level positions and cautioned that AI could eliminate nearly half of them within the next five years.
Additionally, according to Jassy, certain positions at Amazon are also at risk. In light of this, the CEO issued a warning that the organization would “decrease our total corporate workforce” in the years ahead.

According to The Guardian, the memo stated that the implementation of additional generative AI and agents should alter the manner in which we conduct our work.
He continued, “We will require a reduction in the number of individuals performing certain tasks that are currently being performed, and an increase in the number of individuals performing other types of jobs.”
“We anticipate that this will result in a reduction in our total corporate workforce over the next few years, although it is difficult to determine the precise impact of this over time.”
Jassy persisted in her assertion that there will be “billions” of AI agents in various industries and corporations.

“There will be billions of these agents, in every conceivable field and within every company,” he stated. “Agents will also be available to assist you with tasks and errands that are not related to your professional responsibilities, such as shopping, travel, and daily responsibilities.” While many of these agents have not yet been constructed, it is important to note that they are on the horizon and are approaching at a rapid pace.
Jassy advised individuals to “embrace this change” and to “educate themselves” in the new technology, as the AI conquest is somewhat beyond our control.
