Paris Jackson has responded angrily to those who have criticized her for booking a show on the anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s passing.
The 27-year-old musician will perform with Incubus on June 25 at Nashville, Tennessee’s Bridgestone Arena, 16 years to the day that her father, 50, passed away from a heart attack brought on by an overdose of propofol and benzodiazepines.
Her choice to perform on the date was criticized by social media users; however, Paris responded that it was a result of her status as a support act and her refusal to expect preferential treatment.
In a series of videos posted to her Instagram Stories on Friday, the singer stated, “So, people are mad again,” as reported by the New York Post. “June 25 is a very bad anniversary for me and my family, and it also happens to be one of the dates I’m supposed to be traveling on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra.

“I suppose I’ll have to explain to these individuals that when you’re the first of three and not the main act, you don’t get to choose the date, time, or city where you perform.
“The first of three does not receive a tour bus either. You might be given a sprinter van, something I’ve done in the past when I’ve been with a band. “But this time, I’m not going to have my band with me,” she continued, adding that she would be traveling with Justin Long, her fiancé, who works as a sound technician.

She continued by criticizing individuals who were drawing attention to the date, saying: “Why the fk would I make a big issue about it? I’m going to tell them, ‘Sorry, guys, we can’t play on this date.'” “This feels like (Incubus is) doing me a favor by bringing me out on tour,” he said cynically. Fk you.
In March, it was revealed that Paris would open for Manchester Orchestra on Incubus’ 2025 US and UK tour.
