The ongoing protests against ICE in Los Angeles took a violent turn this week during a dramatic confrontation that’s now going viral—a protester was body-slammed to the ground following a heated exchange with law enforcement.
In the now widely circulated footage, a protester can be seen dancing provocatively in front of a line of sheriff’s deputies dressed in full riot gear. Without warning, he throws a can at one of the deputies. In response, officers launch tear gas toward him. Just as he begins to flee, a man—who doesn’t appear to be an officer—charges in and takes the protester down with a powerful flying tackle reminiscent of a pro wrestling move.
While the identity of the man delivering the takedown remains unclear, many on social media speculate he may have been an undercover officer due to his precise and forceful action in support of law enforcement.

TMZ reports that the protester was arrested and is currently being held in Los Angeles County Jail.
The scene was chaotic. Even a reporter from Status Coup News, who was on the ground covering the event, claimed she was struck by a round of so-called “less-lethal” ammunition.
With both protesters and journalists caught in the crossfire, tensions are rising—and what began as a demonstration is now quickly escalating into something far more intense.
