The NBA YoungBoy expressed gratitude to Donald Trump for pardoning him for his gun-related offenses.

The outspoken rapper was freed in March to serve out his home arrest after receiving a two-year prison sentence for possessing guns.

Although YoungBoy still had time to complete his probation, he will no longer be subject to its requirements after Trump’s pardon.

“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” YoungBoy said in a statement following the release of the pardon news.

Although Trump and the White House have not yet provided an explanation for the pardon, the Republican president has a track record of showing support for rap artists.

At the conclusion of his first term in 2021, Trump notably pardoned Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.

Kodak was serving a prison sentence at the time due to a firearms charge, and Trump justified the pardon by pointing to the rapper’s “philanthropic efforts.”

While awaiting punishment, Wayne was also granted a pardon on gun-related offenses.

“I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community,” Weezy said after thanking Trump for the pardon. I also want to express my gratitude to @bradfordcohen for his tireless efforts in securing me another opportunity. Love!

Prior to the pardon, Wayne had openly sSourceupported Trump during his 2020 reelection campaign, which he lost to Joe Biden.

There have also been rumors that Trump would pardon Diddy if he is found guilty in his sex trafficking trial, which is still pending.

“I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community,” tweeted Suge Knight, who is also incarcerated, earlier this month. Additionally, I would want to thank @bradfordcohen for his tireless efforts in securing me another opportunity. Love!

If found guilty, Diddy and his legal team have not made any public statements about whether they will seek a pardon.
