Comedy royalty The showbiz dynasties of Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have formally united.
In an appearance with “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Thursday, Murphy stated that Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, and his son, Eric Murphy, “ran off and got married.”
Murphy disclosed, “They actually got married two weeks ago.” “They went off — everybody was making their big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”
Then, Eddie Murphy made a joke about his co-stars in “Life” and “Boomerang” not having “to pay for the big wedding now.”

The newlyweds may not have known that Murphy would be announcing their marriage on national television. Jasmin Lawrence, 29, and Eric Murphy, 35, did not share any information about the private ceremony on social media.
In November, the couple shared a video from the candlelit proposal on Instagram to announce their engagement.

Eddie Murphy informed Hudson that they intended to host a “big party” to celebrate the newlyweds, even though they chose a private wedding.

According to Lawrence’s interview with InTouch Weekly the following year, the couple began dating in 2021. She claimed that rather than their well-known fathers, they met through her uncle.
She told InTouch, “They’ve done two movies together, and it wasn’t even our dads.” “They’re pals. I have no idea. It’s insane. However, my uncle introduced us, and we quickly became close friends. We have several things in common. Since our histories are obviously comparable, we were able to understand one another on a certain level.
