Unless you are a bleach-blonde, larger-than-life flavor junkie who pursues good times like it is a vocation, rocker Sammy Hagar never plays second-fiddle to anyone. Obviously, we are discussing Guy Fieri.

Before Ryan Reynolds, George Clooney, Conor McGregor, Bryan Cranston, or Charles Barkley capitalized on the distillery run that has generated billions worldwide, Hagar, who is affectionately referred to as the “Godfather of Tequila,” was already a prominent figure in the spirits industry.

Much of Hagar’s success in the spirit industry can be attributed to the gritty and comforting origins of his upbringing in the lettuce fields of Salinas, California. “We were impoverished as children, but we consistently maintained a garden.” Everything was prepared by my grandmother and mother. He states, “We consumed high-quality tomatoes throughout the year.” Hagar recalls the aroma that emanated from his grandfather’s Italian-style bistro, which was converted from a trailer. “He prepared his own pasta, cheese, and olive oil.” He even produced his own wine! As I approached his trailer, the aroma was intoxicating, reminiscent of a deli.

His description and experience of flavors today reflect the romanticism of his relationship with food and family. He did not intend to pursue a career in the spirits industry; however, his impeccable taste enticed him, as it had done with numerous other aspects of his life. Hagar may be inclined to emphasize the quality of the food and spirit industry due to his limited exposure to restaurants until the age of 24.

Hagar’s initial passion was wine, and he ultimately found himself in Jalisco, Mexico, where he was enjoying tequila after a series of unanticipated and global detours. What originated with Cabo Wabo eventually evolved into new businesses. Good tequila has a flavor that is reminiscent of the earth, with a hint of citrus and salinity. The following are all involved: overtones, fruity, herbaceous, duration, and limit. You may consume Santo Tequila Blanco on its own. It contains an abundance of notes.

“Peaches are grown in the vicinity of the distillery by Friieri, and their aroma and flavor are detectable.” It is an exceptional agave spirit. I can identify 15 distinct aromas that I detect in our Blanco tequila, as it contains no additional ingredients. Some individuals may emit an aroma of sugar or honey as a result of their attempts to mask it with agave syrups. A significant amount of tequila is no longer as unadulterated as it should be.

Fieri was peddling Kool-Aid in his neighborhood years before he was smashing flavor profiles on our screens. Fieri, who is renowned for his willingness to roll up his sleeves, literally dipped his adolescent arm into pitchers of the iconic 80’s beverage until his father observed. “After he discovered that I had a purple arm, my father terminated my employment with Kool-Aid.” My father reprimanded me after my dog stole my stirring implement. He stated, “That concludes our conversation; you are dismissed.”

As an aspiring entrepreneur, the nascent beverage king acquired a valuable lesson. “As a child, I consistently operated a few businesses.” My childhood was spent in the idyllic community of Ferndale, California, where I was a budding entrepreneur. Tourists were consistently visiting, and I consistently maintained a business presence. I would purchase penny confectionery from the candy store and sell it for a nickel across the street in a tiny cardboard booth. Everyone was incredulous that this diminutive child was earning money. Although his entrepreneurial Kool-Aid days are behind him, it was not the only occasion on which Fieri would generate revenue by selling beverages (albeit of the alcoholic variety).

When Hagar sold Cabo Wabo, Fieri was devastated; his restaurant had self-reported selling more Cabo Wabo than any other in the nation.

They had a conversation. Hagar was prepared to relax and savor the well-deserved beverages that had solidified his status as an entrepreneur. Fieri was interested in collaborating with Hagar to establish a spirits company, but Hagar was hesitant. Hagar responded, “If you contact me in a decade, I may be prepared.”

Fieri was prepared, even if the decade expanded for a few years before returning to Hagar. Hagar was responsible for the summoning this time, and Santo Spirits was established.

Hagar has pursued excellence in both her personal and professional life for decades. “In all honesty, I believed that I would not have joined Van Halen if I was unable to sing as well as the previous member, David Lee Roth.” According to all accounts, Hagar has discovered a bandmate in Fieri who embodies a critical component of entrepreneurial success: a shared passion for success and complementary abilities.

Hagar recalls his poverty and regards his occupation as a means of contributing to communities and making a positive impact.
