Rick Derringer, a legendary performer and guitar icon, passed away on Memorial Day due to the abrupt failure of his heart, according to TMZ.

Jenda Derringer, Rick’s devoted wife, informs TMZ that he passed away “peacefully” on Monday night after being removed from life support due to a medical emergency.

Tony Wilson, his close companion and caretaker, informs us that he underwent a triple bypass two months ago and is currently in good health. He also stated that RD appeared to be in perfect health over the weekend. However, on Monday evening, as he was preparing for bed and reaching for his preferred pillow, he experienced a form of shock and subsequently passed away at the hospital in Ormond Beach, Florida.

Jenda and Tony have confirmed that they were present when he passed. The former has stated, “We believed we had years left, but God’s timing is perfect.”

She also commends the rocker for his perseverance in the face of his recent surgery, describing him as “so positive and peaceful.”

Rick’s legacy is self-evident; he initiated the proceedings with The McCoys and their success “Hang On Sloopy,” and subsequently collaborated with legends such as Steely Dan, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Weird Al, Cyndi Lauper, and Barbra Streisand.

He produced timeless classics such as “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo” and the anthem “Real American,” which has been famously employed by Hulk Hogan, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

The music was not the sole focus of Derringer’s performance; his signature energy and spectacle illuminated every stage.
