Miley Cyrus is not unfamiliar with the concept of driving herself to the brink in pursuit of her art; however, one filming experience was particularly extreme.
The 32-year-old singer disclosed that she contracted a severe infection while filming her forthcoming film, Something Beautiful, after rolling around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the video production.
Cyrus explained during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, May 22, that she had filmed the video in October and was briefly hospitalized in the ICU during Thanksgiving in November. The “Wrecking Ball” singer disclosed that her “leg began to disintegrate around the kneecap area” due to the severity of the infection.

Cyrus, in her characteristic manner, dismissed the situation during the interview, recounting her physician’s response to her infection. “The doctor inquires, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a severe infection on your kneecap?'” Jokes were made by Cyrus. “I just saw myself [rolling around on the Walk of Fame] and I had to tell him.” The situation became even more distressing when she remembered the surgeon’s expression of disgust as he examined her limb. She remarked, “They open up cadavers and peer into the guts of humans, and they are staring at me, telling me I am repulsive.”

Cyrus continued with the production despite the setback, choosing to film in the middle of the night on the Walk of Fame to reduce rental costs. She elaborated, “I had a large ambition and a limited budget for this film. Consequently, we visited the renowned destination “in the middle of the night.” She shared a chuckle with Kimmel, asking, “Have you ever visited the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?” I was under the impression that it was my final day.
Cyrus has encountered numerous health concerns, including this incident. This week, she disclosed that she endured an ovarian cyst rupture while hosting her 2023 New Year’s Eve special. Despite the excruciating agony, she proceeded to perform alongside Paris Hilton, Dolly Parton, and Sia. “It was quite traumatic because it was so excruciating, and I still performed the show,” she acknowledged.
