Kid Cudi claims that Cassie treated him like an instrument during their 2011 affair.
The rapper known for his song “Pursuit of Happiness” testified in Diddy’s federal criminal trial in New York City on Thursday. During his testimony, he discussed his fleeting relationship with Cassie extensively.
Cudi acknowledged that he felt betrayed by Cassie when she informed him that their relationship with Diddy was over, only for her to rekindle their romance after their separation.
Defense counsel for Diddy “She played you?” Brian Steel inquired of Cudi. Cudi responded, “Certainly.” Steel responded, “You were unaware that Cassie had reconciled with Diddy.” Cudi replied, “I have no idea.”
Kid Cudi informed jurors that he only dated Cassie for less than a month, and they parted ways due to safety concerns and drama. He also claimed that Diddy broke into his home upon discovering that he was seeing Cassie, and that he “knew Sean Combs was violent.”

Additionally, Cudi testified that his Porsche was set ablaze by a Molotov cocktail a few weeks after his relationship with Cassie ended. He was persuaded that Diddy was involved in the incident. Cudi claims that when he confronted Diddy about the incident, Cassie entered the room, and he discovered that they were reuniting.
Steel inquired of Kid Cudi whether Cassie was “living two different lives,” to which Cudi replied, “Yes.” Steel then inquired as to whether both Cudi and Diddy were deceived by Cassie, to which Cudi replied, “Yes.”
Cudi even declared his affection for Cassie.
