The legendary former talk show anchor Wendy Williams was spotted for the first time since Sabrina Morrissey, her legal guardian, declared her “permanently incapacitated” because of early-onset dementia.

Williams, 60, seemed cheerful when she picked up an order from Sho’nuff Oysters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, in spite of these allegations.

In a video that blogger Antoine Edwards shared, Wendy was seen grinning while sitting in the backseat of a black SUV. She was wearing an army green jacket, bright red lipstick, and bracelets and a striking ring as accessories. She added light brown bangs to finish the ensemble. Travis Finnie, her nephew, accompanied her on the excursion.

The sighting coincides with a legal dispute over Wendy’s appearance in the Where Is Wendy Williams? documentary on Lifetime. Morrissey claims the media celebrity was taken advantage of while the four-part series was being filmed, and that Williams’ mental health condition—frontotemporal dementia and aphasia—has significantly worsened.

According to a document filed in a New York court last month, Wendy “has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.” The evidence backed up Morrissey’s complaint against A+E Networks, which claimed that Williams only received $82,000 while the network made millions from the program.

Morrissey claims that producers started filming Williams without getting her permission, even though there were obvious indications of memory loss and behavioral problems. Morrissey’s attorney said, “None of the defendants ever obtained the guardian’s consent for [Williams’] participation to be filmed.”

Morrissey is requesting that Williams receive greater payment in addition to having private information in the documentary redacted. Morrissey did not provide Wendy with sufficient protection during the filming process, according to A+E Networks, which has defended its conduct.

This latest public appearance provides Wendy Williams followers with a glimmer of optimism amidst the intricate legal and health issues involving the adored television star. Notwithstanding the continuous difficulties, Wendy’s dazzling personality served as a reminder to everyone of the charm that made her famous. See the unusual sighting below.
