Freddie Gibbs, YG, and WWE star CM Punk are among those set to participate in the upcoming independent horror flick Night Patrol.
According to a Hollywood Reporter report published on Friday (October 17), Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, and RJ Cyler will feature in the Ryan Prows-directed film, which will be released in 2025.
According to the synopsis: “LAPD officer (Fowler) must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.”
This will not be either rapper’s first acting endeavor.

Freddie Gibbs most recently appeared in the highly acclaimed film Down With The King, as Money Merc, who travels to a small village in the Berkshires, Massachusetts, to record his new album. While looking for fresh inspiration, Merc takes to farming owing to a bond with his neighbor.
Merc, who enjoys his new lifestyle, unexpectedly declares his retirement from the rap business before his management attempts to persuade him to reconsider.
Last year, The New York Times lauded his acting performance in the film and said that they believed he was overlooked for a deserved Best Actor consideration, which astounded the Gary, Indiana rapper.

Down With The King was released on June 28, 2022, after screenings at several festivals, including the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in France.
Gibbs told Desus & Mero that after being cast in the part, which was his first acting job, he started examining the work of some of his favorite Hollywood performers.
“I really been studying cats like Samuel L. Jackson — that’s my favorite actor of all time, period,” he told reporters. “So I just been looking at some stuff and tryna figure my way out and some things I wanna do, and like I said, really studying and writing and starting to get a vibe for it.”
YG has also had multiple film and television appearances, including acting and directing his own short film for his 2014 album, Blame It On The Streets.
