Metallica’s enormous M72 World Tour is unlikely to taper down anytime soon.

On September 19, the renowned heavy metal band announced a series of M72 World Tour dates in North America over the spring and summer of 2025, with Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills serving as opening bands – and fans are ready.

“Metallica and Limp Bizkit are touring together next year; this is absolutely not a drill,” tweeted one X (previously Twitter) user after the news.

“Limp Bizkit and Metallica is an evil combo I didn’t know was even possible. I HAVE to go to this,” another fan wrote on the social media platform.

One admirer even shared a sensitive narrative about how significant the tour will be to him. “It’s going to be difficult to afford this. But after all I’ve been through over the last four years of Chemo, this band single-handedly saved my life and continues to do so now,” he wrote on X. “No way I’m missing this @Metallica @Pantera my 2 favorite Bands of All time!!!”

The new tour begins on April 12 with a headline performance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, followed by gigs in Toronto, Nashville, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, and more before concluding on June 29 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

Sticking to tradition, each weekend featuring two shows in the same city will be labeled a “No Repeat Weekend” and will feature Metallica performing a different setlist each night, while the opening acts will also alternate, allowing fans to see everything the M72 World Tour has to offer if they attend both performances.

One performance in particular will be exceptionally special. Metallica will play its debut gig at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, also known as the home of the Virginia Tech Hokies, who have played the band’s classic song “Enter Sandman” on the field for almost 20 years.

Tickets are first available to fan club members on September 23 at 10 a.m. local time. Then, Citi cardholders and Verizon Access users can purchase tickets for select dates during two separate presale windows, which run from September 24 at 10 a.m. local time to September 26 at 10 p.m. local time.

All other fans can buy tickets beginning September 27 at 10 a.m. local time.

A part of the tour’s ticket sales will benefit local organizations through Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.

The M72 World Tour, which will accompany the group’s 2023 album 72 Seasons, begins on April 27, 2023.
