Alec Baldwin was not the only actor on the “Rust” film set with live ammo; another actor was discovered to have a live bullet in his gun holster.
The shocking fact was revealed in court today as part of crime scene technician Marissa Poppell’s testimony in Alec’s continuing manslaughter trial in New Mexico.
Poppell informed the jury that actor Jensen Ackles had a live bullet on set, the ammunition was in his bandolier, and he was on site when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was tragically shot.
Remember… Alec’s defense team, lead by Alex Spiro, claims it was not his responsibility as an actor to ensure there was no live ammunition in his gun. Alec also stated that the gun fired without his pulling the trigger.

Images of live ammunition discovered on the “Rust” set were also revealed in court Thursday, and the bullets appear to be dummy rounds.
The sole difference is that live bullets have a silver center as seen from the bottom, whereas dummy rounds have a gold center.
So, even if Alec checked the handgun, it seems unlikely that he would be able to distinguish between simulated rounds and actual ammunition.
Spiro questioned Poppell whether she had any reason to believe Jensen knew there was a live round in his pistol holster, and she responded no… implying that Alec would not have known there was a live round in his gun either.
In addition to a live bullet in Alec’s gun and one in Jensen’s gun holster, live ammunition was discovered in a prop cart and a box of ammo.
It’s worth remembering that armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has already been convicted guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to guarantee Alec’s rifle was not loaded with live ammunition. She’s expected to testify on Friday.
