Ed Sheeran appeared as a surprise guest during Hozier’s act at the Pinkpop Festival.

The 34-year-old ‘Too Sweet’ hitmaker introduced the 33-year-old Grammy winner as “one of the biggest artists on the planet” and said he was “so honoured” to share the stage with him as they started into ‘Work Song’ off Hozier’s 2014 self-titled debut album.

He said onstage at the festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, “For this next song, this is such a delight, and I feel so, so honored to be able to do it. This is going to be tons of fun. I’d like to invite one of the world’s most famous artists to perform on stage. Aside from being a fantastic songwriter, he’s also a wonderful person and guy.

Ed had already been onstage with nu-metal titans Limp Bizkit for a performance of The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ during the music festival.

Meanwhile, Hozier previously stated that he is “f talented” by Ariana Grande.

In an ELLE video, he stated, “I love her music.” I think she’s an outstanding pop artist. I think she’s quite talented. I believe every time I hear her sing, I am reminded of how f talented Ariana Grande is.
