Pop Smoke’s murder trial is reportedly postponed because one of his alleged murders refused to accept a plea agreement.
Rolling Stone reported on Friday (June 21) that Pop Smoke’s alleged killer, Corey Walker, will be given a new trial date after plea agreement negotiations failed. Jury selection was scheduled to begin this week, but if a plea agreement is not reached, it will now begin on August 6.
“The negotiations broke down. “But there’s still a chance we’ll reach an agreement,” Walker’s lawyer Deion Benjamin told RS. “A few issues need to be worked out. If they are not resolved, we will proceed to trial.”

Walker is the only one currently facing legal implications for Pop Smoke’s murder in a Hollywood Hills home four years ago. A 15-year-old earlier admitted to being the triggerman during a home invasion in February 2020. He was tried in juvenile court and will be held in a juvenile correctional institution until he turns 25.
In addition, another of Smoke’s killers, King Vermont Raskel, is said to have been released this week after serving four years in a juvenile facility. It has not been confirmed.
Pop Smoke was shot and died on February 19, 2020. The trial update comes after a woman named Amelia Rose, who was with Pop Smoke at the time of his murder, gave out about the terrifying night three guys stormed into his rented Hollywood Hills house back in February.

Rose told We TV’s Hip Hop Homicides in 2022 that Pop was on his way to the bathroom when the men burst in and killed him.
“Pop said he was going upstairs,” Rose explained. “I’m sitting on the bed and I’m starting to take off my clothes, and he said, ‘OK, I’ll come back,'” remembered her. “He was going to the restroom and so these were his last words.”
She claimed that one of the murderers even flashed a gun in her face. “After a few seconds, I heard the noise. He was wearing a mask and holding a revolver that said, “Look at me.” His looks made me quite afraid. They rush to the restroom. Pop exclaimed, ‘What?!'”
Pop Smoke was 20 years old when he died.
