Lauryn Hill and the Fugees are scheduled to visit the United Kingdom later this year.

In addition to a series of shows in the United States from August to September, the 49-year-old ‘Ex-Factor’ singer, who postponed most of the remaining dates on her tour last year due to “serious vocal strain,” will bring the ‘Miseducation Anniversary Tour’ to Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena and London’s The O2 in October.

The run begins on August 8 in Tampa, Florida, and ends on October 22 in Amsterdam.

She and her Fugees bandmates, Wyclef Jean, 54, and Pras Michel, 51, will perform songs from their 1996 album ‘The Score’, as well as pieces from her groundbreaking 1998 solo album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’.

Prior to postponing the rest of the trip, Lauryn, 49, had been “making it through” each gig by taking a prescribed medicine to assist her voice, but claimed it was “detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time.”

As a result, Lauryn was need to “take time off to allow for real vocal recovery.”

She posted on Instagram at the time: “I’d like to begin by saying how much I’ve enjoyed being on the road, and how much I appreciate all of the fans who have come out to celebrate this incredible milestone anniversary and history-making reunion with us.” It’s been an emotional experience to tour this album to sold-out crowds 25 years later! I’ve enjoyed taking the stage again with Wyclef and Pras. Those who have observed the Return of the Fugees will attest that it was powerful and spectacular. The tour recalls artists and spectators of simpler days when songs like ‘It could all be so simple…’ or ‘Ready Or Not, here I come!’ dominated the radio. Simply put: classic. The experience of performing classic music to audiences that appreciate it has been nothing short of epic. (I almost said “classic” again!)

“As many of you may know, I’ve been dealing with considerable vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each concert by taking prescribed prednisone, although it can be harmful to the body if used in excessive doses over long periods of time. To avoid any long-term harmful effects on my voice and body, I need to take time off to allow for proper vocal recuperation so that I may entirely cease the medicine.

“As a result, we will have to reschedule the majority of our remaining events this year. The cancelled events from this year will be rescheduled for early 2024, and due to the enormous reaction, we will be adding new cities to the tour, including worldwide.

We are currently working on the new calendar and will announce it soon. (sic)”
