BET has announced a star-studded roster and exciting additions to the upcoming “BET Awards” 2024, which will stream live on Sunday, June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Will Smith, an Academy Award-winning actor and multiplatinum recording artist, will launch an original song at the event, joining an extraordinary lineup of artists.
“From his start as a rapper to The Fresh Prince to being a box office king as one of the Bad Boys, Will Smith is truly a global icon, and we are honored to welcome him back to grace the BET Awards stage,” said Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. The awards presentation, hosted by Golden Globe-winning actress Taraji P. Henson, will present the prestigious Lifetime Achievement BET Award to GRAMMY-winning icon Usher. GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Ms. Lauryn Hill & YG Marley, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyla, and Victoria Monét will all perform, with Tanner Adell taking the stage at BET Amplified.
For three years in a row, the “BET Awards” has been the #1 cable award show among all adults 18-49, and it is still the top cable award program among Black adults 18-49 for the 22nd year. The event is a forum for celebrating Black music, innovation, and sportsmanship, emphasizing the culture and promoting social change.

Drake tops the nominees with seven, demonstrating the breadth and significance of his work. A voting academy made up of notable music industry figures chose the nominees.
