Making history, Walt Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” earned another eye-popping $100 million in American box-office earnings, joining a list of seven films that earned $100 million or more in their first and second weekends of release.

Six other films are featured: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Black Panther,” “Jurassic World,” “The Avengers.”

“Inside Out 2” also became the first animated film to earn $100 million or more in its second week of release.

The hugely successful film is also on track to gross more than $1 billion globally. According to Comscore, it has earned $724 million in its first two weeks of release ($355.2 million domestically and $369.2 million abroad).

The third week of Sony Pictures’ “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” grossed $18.8 million, for a total of $146.9 million domestically and $289.1 million globally.

Other notables include Sony Pictures’ “The Garfield Movie” in its fifth week, which earned $85.1 million domestically and $230.6 million worldwide, and 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” which earned $164.4 million domestically and $385.2 million globally.

According to EDO Ad EnGage, Universal Pictures’ “Despicable Me 4” debuted on July 3 with an ad spend of $8.5 million, Warner Bros.’ “Horizon: An American Saga,” debuted on June 28 with ad spend of $5.6 million, and Paramount Pictures’ “A Quiet Place: Day One” debuted on June 28 with ad spend of $5.4 million.

Walt Disney’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” (July 26, $4.2 million), Universal’s “Twisters” (July 19, $3.4 million), Sony’s “Fly Me To The Moon” (July 12, $2.3 million), and Searchlight Pictures’ “Kinds of Kindness” (July 3, $2.0 million) will all open next month.
