Prime Video has bought a second season of Fallout. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy created the show, which is based on a computer game and takes place 200 years after the apocalypse. It premiered on April 10.

The show is described as “the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have.” Two thousand years after the end of the world, “the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, and Walton Goggins are among the cast.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner developed the show. They are the executive producers and co-showrunners. Executive producers include Nolan, Joy, and Athena Wickham of Kilter Films, Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios, and James Altman of Bethesda Softworks. Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films co-produce alongside Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.

“Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have enthralled the world with their groundbreaking, crazy ride of a show. The standard was set high for fans of this legendary video game, and so far we appear to have surpassed their expectations while attracting millions of new fans to the brand. “The cast, led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan, have knocked it out of the park,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios. “We’d like to thank Jonah and Lisa, as well as our friends at Bethesda, for bringing the show to us, and Geneva and Graham for joining us as showrunners. We are excited to announce season two after only one week, which will take viewers even further into the weird world of Fallout.
