Tom Holland Claims That He Dislikes Hollywood And That It Is "Not For Him"

Tom Holland has stated that he “does not like Hollywood” and that it is “not for him.”

Despite being one of Hollywood’s biggest names, the British actor has stated that he is leery of the industry.

He’s become the face of the MCU over the last decade, starring as Peter Parker in the popular Spider-Man series.

However, when asked about the drawbacks of celebrity and how he keeps himself grounded, the 27-year-old stated he prefers to remain grounded.

“Look, I am a huge fan of making movies, but I do not like Hollywood; it is not for me,” he remarked.

“I’m terrified of the business. I recognize that I am a part of that industry, and I like my contacts with it.

“However, I am constantly looking for ways to remove myself from it, to live as normal a life as possible.”

“Today, doing this [podcast] is a very rare thing for me to do.”

Holland went on to remark that he wouldn’t generally open up like this in a conventional interview, but because he enjoys the podcast, he thought it was a’safe space’ for him to do so.

He went on to talk about some of his buddies who he claims have ‘lost themselves’ in the movie business.

“I definitely think it has been an ongoing thought, which is don’t lose yourself,” Holland said.

“I’ve seen so many people come before me and lose themselves, and I’ve had childhood friends who are no longer my friends because they’ve lost themselves to this business.”

“I just want to focus on what makes me happy, which is my family and my friends.” It’s my carpentry, golf, and my mother’s charity.

“Like, that is what makes me really happy, and that is what I should protect.”

When asked about his connection with fellow actor Zendaya, Holland expressed a desire to keep things private.

And he added that they both think that maintaining as much privacy as possible is the best way to maintain a healthy relationship.

“My relationship is the most sacred thing to me; I don’t talk about it,” he added.

“I try to keep it as private as possible because we both believe that is the healthiest way for us to move forward as a couple.”
