The Watchers’ Dakota Fanning will be the show’s star.
Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of ‘The Sixth Sense’ director M. Night Shyamalan, will make her feature directorial debut with the movie, which will star the 29-year-old actress.
Dakota will take on the role of Mina, a 28-year-old artist who becomes lost in a vast, uninhabited forest in western Ireland. Mina unwittingly becomes stuck with three other strangers who are being watched and stalked by enigmatic monsters every night when she accidentally finds shelter.
The film, which was written by Ishana and will be released in June 2024, was acquired by New Line following a heated bidding war.
The movie will be produced by M. Night Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan through Blinding Edge Pictures, and shooting is scheduled to begin this summer. Jo Homewood will serve as the executive producer for Inimitable Pictures, along with Nimitt Mankad.
Ishana worked as a writer and director on her father’s critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series “Servant.” On the movies “Old” and “Knock at the Cabin,” she collaborated with her father as well.
Night had previously expressed his eagerness to watch his daughter begin her career as a cameraperson.
The 52-year-old director remarked, “You know, it’s been beautiful. I’ve spent enough time here already. It’s really crazy, and I only started when I was 21. At age 23, my daughter will begin a career in cinema.
“I’m thinking, ‘Wow, what an adventure you’re about to embark on!’ Of course, there are some connections between her journey and mine. It is a distinct one.
