Actor Frankie Muniz, who plays Malcolm in the Middle, has addressed rumors that he is “dying”.
The actor-turned-racing driver addressed rumors that he was dying and that he had previously suffered from memory loss in a recent interview with GQ.
On the podcast Wild Ride! with Steve-O in 2021, he had first addressed the rumors. “This is the first time that I’ve actually ever gotten to clarify [the rumor],” Muniz remarked at the time. All that comes up when you search for my name is that I have no memory or that I’m dying of strokes, among other such things. When you look up my name, the main result is “Frankie is dying.”
Frankie is passing away.
Muniz said he had experienced several concussions in the past and that he believes they contributed to some of the memory loss and severe migraines he had previously experienced. He also suggested the sheer volume of work he did as a child while filming Malcolm In The Middle could potentially be responsible for why his memory is so poor.
“I’ve thought about it a lot like over my years of like, you know, why do I have a bad memory? You get what I’m saying? I’ve got nine concussions, is all I can say logically,” he admitted.
“…I don’t want to put the blame on the concussions or anything else; I simply think that I accomplished so fucking much in that little period of time.Yes, of course! I don’t recall everything.
In a recent interview with GQ, he has now disclosed further information concerning the memory problems.
He admitted to the magazine, “Even now, I’ll admit to you that I don’t have the best memory.”
“I don’t know how much of it is due to the nine concussions I’ve had in my life, but I believe it’s primarily due to the fact that I haven’t stopped moving since I was eight years old — traveling, doing so much…As an actress, I would assume a different persona, speak the other person’s words, and then forget them the following day. So, that’s pretty much how I go about my daily business. Since I’m used to being busy, perhaps I don’t take anything in.
When questioned about old newspaper headlines, he revealed that others had also suggested “That I was dying!” As if my wife had to constantly remind me who I am, like in the movie 50 First Dates, he continued.
In order to put an end to rumors concerning his health, he said, “I’m all good.”
Muniz has previously appeared in movies like Agent Cody Banks, Big Fat Liar, and My Dog Skip.
