Action
Movies in the action genre are defined by risk and stakes. While many movies may feature an action sequence, to be appropriately categorized inside the action genre, the bulk of the content must be action-oriented, including fight scenes, stunts, car chases, and general danger.
Horror
The horror genre is centered upon depicting terrifying or macabre events for the sake of entertainment. Thriller
A thriller story is mostly about the emotional purpose, which is to elicit strong emotions, mostly dealing with generating suspense and anxiety. No matter what the specific plot, the best thrillers get your heart racing.
SCI-FI
Science fiction movies are defined by a mixture of speculation and science. While fantasy will explain through or make use of magic and mysticism, science fiction will use the changes and trajectory of technology and science. Fighting Nirvana
This small-budget film has an engaging quality that makes one keep watching even when the pace slows up. The characters are all different enough that individual personalities come through and we latch on to our favorites. Everyone is like someone we know or perhaps like us. There are two guys and two girls. One of the guys is a stranger to the girls who are sisters. They’ve come together this evening for a common purpose. That seems to get sidelined as they engage in conflict and healing among each other. It had a spooky quality and was very self-contained. All the aspects worked nicely in the constraints of the setting and theme. I was hooked and kept watching till the ‘surprise” ending. It’s a good date movie or one to watch when you really want to focus in on an interesting plot and quirky yet natural characters. Overall a good effort by all.
